CCNP SWITCH BASIC SWITCH OPERATION TWO

  1.  Switches uses CSMA/CD technology .
  2. It builds CAM table to learn all the mac-address , according  to its CAM table entry it forwards the    frame.
  3.  All physical members i.e all interfaces are part of logical member ie VLAN 1.
  4.  CAM entries can be separated Via creating multiple vlans.

How Switch process the frame: 


you find that SW0 learns SW1 mac-address and vice-versa

you find that how SW0 and SW1 learns different  mac-address Green arrows shows mac-address learn via SW0 & red arrow shows mac-address learns Via SW1



1.          All physical members i.e all interfaces are part of logical member ie VLAN 1
   # sh vlan



It shows that all the physical members are the part of vlan 1 .



CAM entries can be separated Via creating multiple vlans
With help of vlan we can change the physical-membership & logical-membership
Relationship.
